The expanded and modernized Baird Center significantly boosts the capacity for events hosted within the city, driving a steadier flow of guests to the hotels, restaurants, small businesses and cultural offerings throughout the state. This results in an economic impact of billions of dollars to the state, and hundreds of millions to the city and county. The growth in visitors strengthens the hospitality industry and creates even more job opportunities for the people of our community. The completed expansion and modernization of Baird Center is expected to support 2,300 full-time equivalent jobs in the state of Wisconsin. Through our superb partner collaboration and shared vision with the city, local hospitality venues and non-profit organizations, we continue to elevate the city’s image and reputation while building a strong foundation for a bright future.
